I just got back my Business decision game result! My Co. has been the top performer for 2 quarters in a row! YIPPEE! We're rank 3rd in terms of net income for Year 3! YiPPee!!
I don't know why i'm getting so emotionally involved in this game. Probably it's because of all the effort i've put into the game. and that the exhilaration of winning is simply too hard to resist.
Anyway, i just received an email from a gf in Denmark. She's enjoying herself, traveling and learning to cook by observation *hehe* Another gf in Hong Kong is shopping, studying, hanging out with other exchange students from NTU etc. sounds fun. Then i ask myself how will i spend my time if i am to go on exchange. hmm, i can't deny that i am very emotionally dependent on people who are usually by my side, like my gfs in school, like my parents and brothers, so i doubt i can enjoy myself for 3mths without them. and therefore, I really admire the courage of people who went overseas to study like Windz, JQ, Jack, ah boy, etc and people who went on exchange like my 2 gfs. -nod-
Not sure if you experience this, sometimes, when I think more and more about doing something, I just "chicken-out" in the end. Like, when i think of taking up responsibilities e.g. leadership roles, volunteering to get something done etc. or taking part in events e.g. volunteer work, teaching, going on exchange zzz etc, i become scared thinking about the consequences of taking up these things because I lack faith in my own abilities and self-discipline. I'm the kind of person that gets upset for an entire day just because of one disapproving look from tom-dick-or-harry. because of that, i'll become doubtful of my capabilities, my self-esteem etc... and then it becomes very easy for me to slip into the state of laziness/bo-chupness.
can't take stress especially when i feel that i am alone.
So no exchange for me.
zzzz.
maybe next time i should just cut the short-circuit the process of thinking.
p.s. Jack, come back soon! *in case you think we don't miss you. haha*

Have faith in yourself! Know that anything can be done if you put your mind and heart into it. It just takes a bit of courage, or rashness (alcohol might help), to take that first step. Then at the end of the whole thing you'll be amazed at how you managed to make it through!
Going on exchange is a challenge, no doubt, but I'm sure you're more than up to it lah.
Yah Jack, we all miss you lor. Don't you dare think otherwise. Haha..
congrats~~ =)
and i'm sure u are more independent than a lot of other ppl that i know~~ dun worry too much abt it~~ have more confidence in urself n not in other ppl's judging eyes~~
Jack... ur blog is more dead than an egyptian mummy... =P i think the only time we can meet is when either of us graduates...
PS: Alcohol may not be a good suggestion... rashness may turn to rashes... =P
Hey partner,
Good stuff on the business decision game! Keep it up girl!
Regarding what you're say about going overseas, you are perfectly normal. When we go overseas, we do feel scared, homesick, sad, nervous... everything. It is only human to feel such emotions.
I think that there will always be some people trying to put us down, to discourage us. They may make you lose confidence, self esteem, and feel scared... but you must never allow them to take away your faith.
Courage is not the absence of fear. It is the overcoming of fear. Keep the faith and pursue your dreams.
P.S. i'm leaving this week le. It was good to meet up with you.. thanks for organising our pri. sch. gatherings! i really enjoyed them. see you next year!
