The new found game isn't that new after all... erh.. in fact its a little girlish - the game is fairy godmother tycoon. the game starts with a fairy godmother who wants someone to manage her potion store. In each village, there'll be a goal to reach, such as reaching a certain level of net worth, or cash balance etc. Some times it can just be to drive competitors out of business.
it is cute! can pass time easily.
few days ago, a girlfriend told me that she's leaving for Ireland for her PhD. She'll be away for four long years but she promised to be back once a year.
mmm...
she's a good friend of mine... someone who introduced me to her parents as her good friend. *hahaha*
I introduced people to people as my buddy, good friend, girlfriend... (unless the person I'm introducing is really someone i don't feel v emotionally close to) but i never have friends who introduce me as a good friend before. normally it goes 'this is my friend,
Anyway, i was kind of surprised when she smsed me that she will leave in early Oct. I called her up immediately...found how out that she got a scholarship. i knew she has been applying for scholarship and such.. didn't expect it to come so soon.
so i arranged for a gathering tonight with a few of our close friends.
then, i did something stupid. I left my phone in the office, went to the dining place but didn't know they changed place last minute, didn't have any of their mobile phone number in my head, didn't even write the numbers anywhere in my house... so i didn't see them just now.
I'm kind of disappointed.. but at least they had some quality time together.
In my impression, Ireland is a romantic country. .... actually it's kind of wrong to say that its my 'impression' since I've never been there. I once read a story on a Chinese newspaper. It's a story of how Irish coffee came about.
Irish coffee was said to be invented by a bartender who worked at the Dublin airport.
One day, he met a beautiful air stewardess at his bar. It was a love at first sight. He noticed that each time she visited the bar, she would order a coffee which suited her mood at that time. Since she never ordered cocktail, there was little opportunity for the bartender to get close to her. Besides, he also hoped that she would get to drink something which he could prepare specially for her. Finally he thought of combining whiskey and coffee to create a new kind of beverage! He called it the Irish coffee.
He prepared a special menu that had 'Irish coffee' just for the air stewardess. Each time she visited the bar, she would be given that special menu. However, the bartender did not highlight the 'Irish coffee' to the air stewardess. He only hoped silently that she would notice the 'Irish coffee' and order it one day.
It took the air stewardess one year before she finally ordered the coffee. When she did, the bartender was so moved that he teared while preparing the Irish coffee. He secretly wiped off his teardrops and drew a circle on the cup rim with it. So this makes the air stewardess the first guest to drink 'Irish coffee'.
The air stewardess loved the coffee. From then on, whenever she visited the bar, she would order the Irish coffee. Slowly, the bartender and the air stewardess got know each other better. He taught her how to make the Irish coffee while she shared with him her traveler's' tales. One day, she told the bartender that she was going to quit her job. That was her farewell to him. At the last time the bartender prepared Irish coffee for the air stewardess, he asked her, 'want some teardrops?' She didn't understand why he asked that. The bartender didn't explain himself. He hoped that the air stewardess would understand his feelings.
When the air stewardess returned to San Francisco, she could not find 'Irish Coffee' in any cafe. Slowly, she came to realise that the Irish coffee was created for her by the Dublin airport bartender. However she never understood why the bartender asked her 'want some teardrops?'.
Mmm wonder if I'll ever get my cup of Irish coffee =D Probably i should learn to make one myself.
Hope my girlfriend can find hers when she gets there.
Then again, 要小心,原来咖啡喝多了也会醉!
