The Analect IX.28: "The wise are free from perplexities; the virtuous from anxiety; and the bold from fear."

I wanted to nominate my primary 4 maths teacher, Mrs Goh, as a teacher who has inspired my love for numbers. for her to qualify as a nominee, she has to be a current full-time teacher. so i went to my primary school website to look for her name.

Sadly, i don't see her name anywhere.

But i found a new school song for my primary school, it goes:

Townsville,
The name that's most dear
To ev'ry staff and student here
You've taught us how to care and share
To do our best and ne'er despair

Wisdom and wit, we'll require
Creative thinkers, we aspire
Lifelong learners we want to be
Brave people of integrity

Chorus
Townsville, our guide
To you we pledge
We'll do our best
Townsville , our pride
To Singapore, loyal we'll be
Townsville, our guide
To you we pledge
We'll do our best
Townsville, our pride
We'll keep our colours flying high

You can listen to the song here

I'm not comfortable with the new song. Just feel that it can never be as nice as the old song i used to sing every school day for six years.

My old school song:

We'll sing together with voices full
The song of our Townsville Primary School
Let's do our best
Caring and sharing
The spirit of love will always be

For the good of school and Country
Let Townsville guide us all the way
Let's do our best
Always remember
The Right from the Wrong in all we do

Do our best

It's not hard to tell what our school motto is from the old song. *grin*

Anyway, i also found the name of my primary 2 form teacher in the website. Can't believe that evil woman is still teaching lower primary, how many children does she want to terrorise?
I remembered when i was in primary 2, i developed a phobia for school because that form teacher insisted that i be the class monitress, and on one occassion, she made me stay back in school after class to reorganise maths files because some classmates didn't file their worksheets properly.

If it's in the afternoon i wouldn't have mind. but it was in the evening lor! sick woman! i was so scared thinking that i have to walk home in the dark. i explained to her that my school bus won't wait, i even cried. but she didn't care. and no one helped me too. she happily walked back to her staff room and left me alone in the empty classroom to re-file the worksheets.

in the end, i rushed like hell then caught my school bus at the last minute. Terrible woman she is. *argh...!!!!*

Wish i can nominate a teacher who terrorise me the most in my childhood.

p.s. sometimes i wonder if it is because of that incident that made me scared of taking up responsibilities in school. or maybe i'm just plain lazy lah. haha
