Ubin Trip

I went Ubin on Sunday with my pri school friend,PL, my elder bro and his pal. It seems like a weird combination but we had fun together. I'm kind of glad that my bro came along 'cos he was there to help when i had difficulties on the dirt tracks. =O) I wouldn't think i would not survive the trip without my bro. but his presence made my time in Ubin easier.

The last time i went to Ubin was about two years ago..? The place hasn't changed much from that time. The eating house beside Ubin jetty is still there.

And the abandoned kelong beside the eating house is still there too.

We didn't exactly plan our itinery. but our first stopover was at the Noordin beach.

There's nothing exceptionally beautiful about the place. When we were at the beach, there were a few mini-buses of tourists from Malaysia. It's kind of weird to bring Malaysian tourists to Pulau Ubin isn't it? Don't they have more beautiful beaches in Malaysia than Noordin beach? As there were other local visitors at the beach so the small beach seemed oddly crowded that day.

Our second stopover was at a small hut along the Sungei Mamam. We had to stop there as it was raining heavily. It wasn't as boring as expected since we had the company of two families that were on a fishing trip.

I like the surroundings of the hut, even the hut itself. I won't say that I like to stay in a rundown hut but i feel that the surrounding is beautiful because of the existence of such a hut. it's like, the hut makes the place more 诗情画意。

Seeing them makes me feel like fishing too! but i think i prefer fishing for crab, prawns and bigger fish!
Besides watching the family, we were also playing with this dog which we named 小黑。 小黑 doesn't bark at all. It likes to get entangled around the table leg which it was chained to.

When the rain stopped, we continued cycling to Mamam Beach. On the way, PL told me to take a shot of this pool of water.

Then we came to our third stopover, the Orchid farm. It's supposedly an Orchid farm except that there is no orchid. There is, however, a cold drink stall which is also the house of an old man. As it was raining heavily again, the old man entertained us with his wild boar. He told us that he caught it when it was small and since then the boar has been with him for about 11 years. We got to explore his courtyard and pond. He keeps several rabbits, birds, hamsters and two dogs.

He also has a very beautiful scenary outside his toilets by the pond.

Following, we have a simple lunch back at the starting point of Ubin and went to a big Thai Buddhist Temple along Jalan Wat Siam. We were stuck at the Buddhist Temple because of heavy rain again. The Buddhist Temple is worth a visit if you're a follower of Buddhism or Taoism. =O) apparently, a lot of old ladies like to visit ubin because of temples like this.
