This week is supposed to be my one-week break from school.
Monday was truely a break. I didn't on my phone (except to lend it to an honest-looking young man at the AMK mrt station). I didn't log on the internet for the entire day (only to find 24 emails the next day. that's already considered little.) I went to watch Rob-B-hood and shopping with my mum. Rob-B-hood is a wonderful show! What's really unexpected was the special appearances by several HK stars in the show, like the sissy security guards (吴彦祖 and i suspect the other guy is nicholas tse) and the first aider in the ambulance (who was a first aider in an ambulance in another HK film)... can't remember the rest.
Actually what i wanted to say is that seeing 吴彦祖 in the show reminds me of Windz, duane and Andy.
I was chatting with Jack from kiwiland yesterday. He reminded me that people who are physically away from S'pore needs to have their egos stroked once in a while. so... *clears throat*, Windz, Jia and Jack are being missed in S'pore by the ms-clumsy-with-words.
Actually that's not exactly what i wanted to say in this entry even though its something i thought implicit in the message. *don't know what i'm driving at...*
I wanted to write about a movie which i watched on tuesday, it's called "Little Red Flower". The english name is quite meaningless lah, its chinese name is "看上去很美". it's a story about how schooling is like from a young child's perspective. I don't exactly know what's the key issue in the movie cos it is simply a rojak of a child's experience. and i don't like the ending. however, what i like most about the movie is how i can feel the adults' intentions as if i am one of the children in the story. but of course, as a partial-adult myself, i understand why the adults did what they did which is something a child will not understand until they reach adulthood.
the show reminded me of my own childhood and how fearful i was of teachers. now, i just think that i was very silly to be scared of teachers.
I wonder if one day people will make a movie about how young grads are scared to talk to their bosses, a movie about power-distance, about seeing things from the eyes of the powerless young grads.
This week is supposed to be a one-week break. but i'm going to school the third time this week and possibly stay till past 730 just for project, reading library textbooks and writing reports.
For every bad thing, there is a bright side to it. the school library overlooks the Singapore Museum and the Museum looks beautiful at night. When there's no eye-candy in school, a fine building is just as good as a consolation.
